‘I was really miserable’: Perez Hilton discusses need for ‘change’ in resurfaced interview
He opened up about past controversies
Blogger Perez Hilton opened up about his struggle moving to Miami in an interview that has resurfaced after his recent hospitalisation.
Earlier this week, Perez Hilton sparked concern after a TikTok live where the 48-year-old was seen harming himself, prompting viewers to call the authorities. He’s now recovering in hospital, according to his family.
In a previous interview with South Florida Live, Perez opened up about the health scare that prompted his move back to Florida after years in Las Vegas.

“I had severe sepsis and landed in the hospital for 21 days, and I was back in the hospital for deep vein thrombosis,” he said.
“Life has its seasons, and I approach how and what I do now seriously as a journalist, but I’m very mindful of how I talk about this.”
The pop culture commentator has been criticised throughout his career for his controversial celebrity coverage, which he has recently reflected on and apologised for.
“I was probably really miserable in many ways, and once I started finding that connection, a healthier life, I became a happier person,” the now-influencer explained.
He runs a YouTube channel with his three children, where he documents life as a single father and shares an insight into the behind-the-scenes of his home. In a recent video from just a month ago, Perez talked about his move to Miami, and how it made him feel.
“I was in a bit of a spiral, because I was overwhelmed with our move to Miami and I didn’t do these things that I know are good for me,” he said in the video.
“I was a little bit anxious, but more soothed and inspired and centred than anything.”
His family have asked for privacy as they focus on his recovery, and the police have confirmed none of his children was present during the incident.
