Perez Hilton revealed he was ‘overwhelmed’ by huge life change just before hospitalisation
‘I was in a bit of a spiral’
Perez Hilton had opened up about feeling “overwhelmed” and admitted he was in “a bit of a spiral” just weeks before he was hospitalised following a concerning livestream.
The celebrity blogger is currently recovering in hospital after members of the public contacted emergency services when he appeared to self-harm during a TikTok livestream earlier this week.

Police and emergency responders were called to his Miami home on Tuesday after viewers reported that a man was “livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media”. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office later that the individual had been “safely recovered” before being taken to a local hospital to receive medical treatment.
Now, an earlier YouTube video posted in June has resurfaced, showing Hilton speaking candidly about how difficult he’d found relocating from Las Vegas to Miami.
Reflecting on the move, he admitted: “I fell off the wagon in every sense, but I’m back.”
He went on to explain what had contributed to that difficult period, saying: “I was in a bit of a spiral, because I was overwhelmed with our move to Miami and I didn’t do these things that I know are good for me.”
Despite describing that challenging spell, Hilton told viewers he was beginning to feel more like himself again. He shared that he’d returned to the gym, started attending a new church and had been reading the Bible.
“I felt really good leaving the gym this morning,” he said.
He also spoke positively about attending church after moving to Miami, adding: “And even better leaving church – a new church. And it was nearly a two-hour service and I was a little bit anxious but more soothed and inspired and centred than anything.”
The comments came only a couple of months after Hilton revealed he’d found religion following a serious health scare. Back in April, he spent 21 days in hospital after developing a stomach ulcer that led to sepsis.
Speaking about that experience, Hilton explained that he felt “God presented Himself” to him during his time in hospital, saying the experience prompted him to reflect on his past behaviour and embrace religion.
