Gay Twitter is thirsting over the hot Duolingo owl, so meet the even hotter man behind the mask

In a moment that was born on TikTok, but quickly spiralled to thirsty, thirsty Twitter, a stupidly hot guy’s Duolingo owl costume broke the internet.

Halloween is Christmas for gay people, which is ironic given that most queer Halloween costumes are something entirely innocuous, warped into filth. In spooky seasons since passed, we’ve seen everything from the sl*tty dad from Inside Out, to a sl*tty version of the orange M&M – we’re not exactly the most versatile bunch. If it’s not filth, it’s usually an obscure internet reference, like the Twitter gay who has dressed as the “holding space” Wicked lady for this year’s Halloween.

Halloween is still a few days away, but people have been steadily sharing this year’s costumes on TikTok. The hot Duolingo owl officially came into existence three days ago when his equally attractive mate, @elbasuu, shared a video that has since racked up 7.1 million views. It showed the friends in Halloween costumes, dancing around to Milkshake using Katseye’s viral dance moves. He posted another video a day later, this one also amassing 4.8 million views.

Dressed in green shorts and practically nothing else, the hunk in the Duolingo mask gained instant fame thanks to his body. Like every other viral saga, like the football players kissing, it soon spiralled out of control on Twitter as the man behind the mask continued to give people what they wanted: Filthy thoughts.

One person said: “Oh my dear lawwwd… that bird is HUGE.. I’m suddenly fluent in every language EVER.”

Posts with the hot owl man have gone down a hoot (I’m hilarious), each racking up millions of views. Most of the comments aren’t postable because they’re nasty as hell.

Duolingo has always been *that* company; not afraid to interact with people on social media. It faked Duo’s death earlier this year for clout, and it regularly beefs with people who forget to do their lessons.

“We look good,” the company commented on one TikTok, with Duolingo Brazil simply posting a lip bite emoji.

When the man under the mask came forward, more on that later, Duolingo slid into his DMs with: “Kingggg, we have a lil something for you.”

It’s yet to be revealed what the present is.

Meet the man behind the mask, Dima

The man behind the mask is called Dima, who lives in the United States. Not much is known about his personal life, other than his jacked physique, but he is attending the University of Southern California in 2027 to study computer science. He also studied in Indonesia for a time.

Thankfully, he’s just as attractive under the mask as with it on – could you imagine if he were absolutely clapped? A HUGE letdown.

Dima is incredibly active on Instagram, where most of his posts are shirtless, and he just created a TikTok following the viral saga. He already has 21k followers.
