Right, what the hell is going on with the viral video of Eureka from Drag Race getting baptised?

Eureka O’Hara, a RuPaul’s Drag Race main character in all sense of the word, is a master at never being far from the public eye. Not only was she a finalist on season 10 and All Stars 6, she famously had to depart season nine because of an injury and then also returned again for Canada’s Drag Race VS the World. She is also pretty much permanently viral, and creates a seemingly endless spawn of memes. We’re barely a month on from the entire Drag Race beef “where the trade left me” saga – and now Eureka has gone viral again after she shared a rather jarring video of her getting baptised and born again at what some are calling a megachurch. Eureka is never beating the Drag Race fans “Eureka is always on a side quest” allegations.

Eureka has been quite transparent about the fact she is in recovery for drugs and alcohol, and frequently shares updates on this on social media when she’s not scrapping with Mistress Isabelle Brooks. She has shared the latest video of her getting baptised as the latest journey in the Drag Race finalist’s recovery, with Eureka saying “Wash away those sins! Such an incredible moment in my recovery!”

It’s fascinating to note that according to her TikTok upload schedule, a mere spattering of hours before this baptism she was in the club doing what you’d typically expect of Eureka: A raucous performance of Nicki Minaj’s Pound the Alarm, complete with high kick.

There’s a bit of concern on Reddit

Some have theorised that the church Drag Race star Eureka is getting baptised in is Mosaic church, and it’s a megachurch that can be quite intense. People are worried for Eureka because of the church’s wayward reputation with LGBTQ+ rights and with Eureka’s vulnerability in recovery.
