Duane ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ Chapman’s 13-year-old step-grandson has been killed by his dad Gregory Zecca in a “freak accident” at their apartment in Naples, Florida.

The accidental shooting happened at around 8pm local time on Saturday (19th July) and law enforcement confirmed no arrests have been made to TMZ.

“We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony,” Dog and his wife Francie said in a statement via their representative.

Who is Gregory Zecca?

Gregory Zecca is the biological son of Dog the Bounty Hunter’s current wife Francie Frane, making him the reality star’s stepson. Duane and Francie got married in 2021, and she has two sons.

The 34-year-old from Parker, Colorado, is part of his stepdad’s bounty hunting team, and used to host a podcast called Beyond the Bounty where he took people behind the scenes of the job.

“The podcast that brings you exclusives, behind the scenes, and all the action I get into with Dog the Bounty Hunter,” the description says. “We are touching on Hot topics, having difficult conversations, and we are bringing you closer to these larger-than-life humans!”

Inside Dog the Bounty Hunter and Francie’s marriage

Duane met Francie after losing his previous wife Beth Champan to throat cancer. They were married from 2006 to 2019, when she sadly passed away at 51. Francie had also just lost her husband Bob to cancer, and that’s how they met.

Duane called Bob as he needed some work done, because he was an excavator, but was unaware that he had died. Francie called him back and they had an instant connection.

The pair got engaged in May 2020, 10 months after Beth passed away, and got marrried just over a year later in September 2019.

He’s been married five times and has 13 kids

Dog the Bounty Hunter has been married five times and has 13 biological children from six different relationships. He also has two stepsons, bringing the total to 15 kids.

The reality star welcomed his first son Christopher Michael Hecht in 1972 with his girlfriend at the time Debbie White. 

After that, he was married to his first wife La Fonda Sue Honeycutt from 1972-77 and they had two kids, Duane Lee II and Leland Blane. Then, he was married to Anne M Tengell from 1979-82 and they had Zebediah, Wesley and James Robert.

After that, Duane married Lyssa Rae Brittain and they had three kids Barbara Katy, Tucker Dee, Lyssa Rae. They were married from 1982-91.

He welcomed three children with Beth Chapman too, Bonnie Joanne, Gary and Cecily Barmore, the latter they adopted. He also discovered he has a son called Jon in 2023.
