Dog the Bounty Hunter’s grandson killed by his own dad in ‘incomprehensible’ tragedy
‘We are grieving as a family’
Duane Chapman, known predominantly as Dog the Bounty Hunter, has issued a devastating statement after his step-grandson was killed by his own father in a tragic accident.
Dog the Bounty Hunter, who has 13 children across five different marriages, is currently married to Francie Chapman after they bonded over losing their respective partners. With her, she brought Gregory Zecca into the family, and he now works on his stepfather’s bounty hunting team.
On Saturday, July 19, police were called to an apartment in Naples, Florida, in what they called an “isolated incident” involving Gregory and his 13-year-old son, Anthony. According to TMZ, Gregory fatally shot his son in the tragic accident, and while specific details about the case are still under wraps, police made no arrests.
“We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony,” representatives for Dog the Bounty Hunter and Francie told the publication.
Dog the Bounty Hunter welcomed his grandson into the family in 2021
Dog the Bounty Hunter lost his wife, Beth Chapman, in 2019 after a 13-year marriage, with Francie entering his life in 2020 after losing her husband to cancer.

“For a living, she’s a rancher and she recently lost her husband to cancer six months before I lost Beth Chapman so we hopped on the phone, started talking to each other, crying and consoling each other and then one thing led to another and it’s just incredible that I’ve been able to meet someone like her,” he earlier told TMZ. “With Francie, I’m allowed to speak about Beth, we speak about her husband. We cry. We hold each other.”
Francie and Dog the Bounty Hunter married in 2021, bringing their families together and hiring his grandson’s father for his bounty hunting business. They’ve also appeared in some of his many reality TV appearances.
“As far as my gene pool, I think she would approve,” he said at the time. “I didn’t have ranchers in my gene pool. I don’t know if Beth even knows. She’s kicking around with the angels. She’s all happy. I don’t know if she knows.”
