TikTok’s trad wife Nara Smith is getting dragged for promoting this unsafe drink while pregnant

It’s been illegal in the UK for 40 years

TikTok influencers do all sorts of weird and wild things to stand out, but trad wife Nara Smith’s latest video has her getting dragged for promoting an absolutely wild drink while pregnant.

You might know Nara as the 23-year-old who bakes everything from scratch, rocks vintage dresses, and shares her classic homemaker lifestyle online. She’s built a huge following by showcasing traditional recipes, from homemade chewing gum to baking elaborate meals, all while juggling life with her family. She’s a proud mum of three. And she’s currently pregnant with her fourth child.

Recently, Nara posted a video baking her famous soft cookies, which normally would be just another cute clip to drool over. But this time, she paired the cookies with a glass of raw milk.

Now, unpasteurised milk has been illegal to sell in the UK for more than 40 years. This is because raw milk can carry dangerous bacteria like Listeria, Salmonella, and E. coli. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, raw milk, for most people, is risky enough, but for pregnant women, it’s especially dangerous. Listeria infections during pregnancy can lead to miscarriage, stillbirth, or serious illness in newborns.

People absolutely dragged her for it

Unsurprisingly, the reaction was swift and harsh. One person commented on TikTok, “Raw milk while pregnant is actually unhinged.” Another added, “Why risk listeria just for cookies? This is dangerous.” A nurse even stepped in with a clear warning: “Nurse here… do NOT use unpasteurised, raw milk! Dangerous to you, baby, and kids.”

While some viewers tried to understand Nara’s love for traditional, homemade ingredients, they still urged caution. “Raw milk can be harmful anytime, but especially during pregnancy,” one wrote. “There’s no need to take that chance.”

People usually seem to Nara’s traditional homemaking lifestyle. But this incident has sparked a larger conversation about when tradition meets safety and whether some old-school habits need a serious update in the modern age.

Nara Smith has not responded to the backlash yet.

Anyway, I’ll just be over there having my second glass of warm milk, thanks.
