Naysha Lopez claps back at Violet and Gottmik after messy Drag Race viewing party beef

Violet Chachki and Gottmik said queens going talking about Drag Race at viewing parties are ‘risking careers’

It’s all kicking off in the Drag Race world yet again, and this time it’s the iconic Roscoe’s Tavern viewing party in the firing line. Just when you think All Stars 10 isn’t full of enough drama, you can always count on huge queens with a podcast like Violet Chachki and Gottmik to bring the drama. After the two queens, known to famously never hold back their brutal opinions, had some choice words about queens going onto the Roscoe’s Tavern viewing party panel – now the Drag Race alum host of that viewing party Naysha Lopez has clapped back at Violet and Gottmik and the drama is of course chaos.

What did Violet and Gottmik say?

Speaking on their latest episode of the No Gorge podcast, season seven winner Violet Chachki and Gottmik discuss the Roscoe’s Tavern viewing party culture and Violet says “Girl, Roscoe’s is like… I can’t. I can’t.”

“I mean, that actually needs to be studied,” Gottmik says. “Some of these girls are ready to risk it all—”. Violet then says “Risk it all to sit on a f*cking patio chair in a f*cking bar.”

“The bar is monetizing boots on y’all basically spilling the tea. Get a podcast, girl. Why are you letting them monetise all the tea?” Gottmik then says “that is so crazy to me” and Violet says “Stop doing that.”

“Stop risking your careers for Roscoe’s,” Violet agrees. “We should make t-shirts.”

Naysha Lopez responded mid Roscoe’s party

Naysha responded very directly to what Violet and Gottmik had said about the bar’s Drag Race viewing party culture. Naysha said “Violet and Gottmik. Two of the nicest queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race, err, anyway. They have a podcast, they do a thing, whatever. They were saying they don’t understand why queens risk their entire career why queens come on Roscoe’s and risk their career. Two things: When they come here first off, this is one of the best places you could ever work. Ever. Every single queen who comes here is treated like the queen they are.

“The implication that they’re coming here and we’re just making money off them? Baby, every single person up here is getting a cheque. Every single person is getting paid now. A good cheque. For someone to say why would you risk your career, giving the tea, I’m going to say about 95 per cent of queens who’ve ever been on Drag Race come through this stage and not one of their careers have been ruined. Not one.

“And this goes for every single person who says I talk too much, because yes I do. If you notice, whenever I interject – it’s because they can’t do it. When we have girls up there I tell them what they can’t say, how they should word it. I’ve been on the show, I’ve read the contract.  We are aware at it – you’re not at risk of losing your career. We’re giving you a platform to be yourself and tell your side.

“If the show didn’t highlight who you are as a person, I’m glad for two hours and 30 minutes you can do it right here.”

Beefy!
