These 22 Islanders share their Love Island audition tapes, and they’re so cringe it hurts

People who go on Love Island might look like the type who have their lives together, but their cringe as hell audition tapes seriously say otherwise. A whole load of previous Islanders have shared the videos they submitted to producers, in a bid to get on the show. After seeing these, I really think they’re all just the same as you and I.

Ex-Islanders have said their audition tapes are around a minute or two long, and in it they have to explain why they would be good for Love Island, and show a little insight into their lives. So, what did they submit as part of the application process? Take a look here.

Millie Court

In a super long Love Island Q&A video on YouTube, 2021 winner Millie Court shared her audition tape. Skip to 22:30 in the video below to watch it in all its glory.

Millie said she had to submit a 60 second video, and she did 30 seconds of her talking, and a 30 second compilation of videos of her. “I think I’d be a good Islander because I’m fit, I’m flirty and I’ve got double Fs,” Millie said. Yes really. “Joking, I’ve got double As. But seriously, I’m funny, I’m outgoing, I’m down to earth, I’m spontaneous and I’m pretty much the clown in the group.”

She went on to say she doesn’t care if people think she’s weird or annoying and then shared more videos. In all the videos she’s drunk, and that’s it really.

2018’s Laura Anderson shared her audition tape on Instagram, captioning it “Pick Me”. She introduced herself as being Scottish, living in Dubai and working as an air hostess. She then said she thinks it would be better to *show* the producers why she’d be a good Islander over telling them, so did a day in her life.

To background music This Is What You Came For, Laura then shared clips of her dancing around a pool, spinning in a chair, dancing in a bikini, eating a burger and riding a camel. If this is what can get you onto Love Island, I think I could too?

Coco Lodge

I licked her tit or whatever legend Coco shared her audition clip, and then deleted it. However, it lives on in Reddit. In the video, she said she’s done with “bullshit men”, wants to get married and “needs to be pregnant right now”.

She went on to say all the men in her life use her for sex, and she wants love. Throughout the video she has a few jump scare, badly edited clips of her dancing in clubs, on holidays and downing bottles of vodka.

Amy Hart

Amy Hart released her audition tape for the 2019 Love Island series. This one is one of the best so far. In the video she introduced herself as an “international pageant title holder” who “still can’t get a text back”.

From there, Amy talked about cabin crew day job at the time, and cut in a shot of her popping champagne on a plane. “By night, I’m the world’s best third wheel,” she said, and revealed she’s the world’s worst drunk texter. She went on to literally list all the reasons she doesn’t have a boyfriend, including because she “doesn’t do ego massaging”.

“Some people say I’m the love child of Elton John and Gemma Collins,” Amy said. “I’m just too extra for my own good. I know I’ve got the hair, teeth, nails and boobs but I’m not your run of the mill Barbie girl. There’s only one Ames.”

Samie Elishi

Samie from the winter Love Island 2023 and All Stars series’ is another Islander who dropped her audition tape in a long Q&A video on YouTube. It’s right near the start, 3:26 into the video below.

Samie’s tape was pretty brief, and gave producers a short introduction to her. She said she reckoned she’d make a good Islander because she’d been single for a while, and knows what she’s looking for. “People say I’m picky, but I just haven’t found the one yet,” she said. “If he’s not on Love Island I may just give up.

“One thing about me I don’t take any disrespect from men. It’s happened a few times where my friends have been disrespected – they don’t have the voice so I am their voice. It’s just not in me to ignore it.”

She went on to say her ideal man looks-wise is Channing Tatum, and personality-wise is anyone who makes her laugh and doesn’t cringe her out. She told producers they “haven’t had a girl like me before”.

George was dumped from the 2023 show first, but just in case you care – he too posted his clip. It was casually filmed in his car. He kicked off with a hearty “hello ITV producers” and told them he’d be a good Islander “for a fact” because he’s “got good energy, I’m a funny lad and to be honest with you, I make a good tea.”

George said his love life isn’t great, and is actually “a shambles” because he’s been “lost in love” a few times before and had his heart broken. He then described what a typical night out for him looks like, which consists of “shots, more shots and you guessed it, more shots.” He said he’s usually in Popworld, “trying to graft my way towards the fittest bird.”

This year has celebrated 10 years of Love Island. As part of the celebrations, ITV released a spin-off, called A Decade of Love. This saw show legends come back to reflect on their journeys, and go through the iconic moments. As part of this, ITV resurfaced a bunch of their cringe Love Island audition tapes.

We had clips from Molly-Mae Hague, Chris Hughes, Nathan Massey, Whitney Adebayo, Liam Reardon, Maura Higgins, Olivia Attwood, Jess Hayes, Mimii Ngulube, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Cara De La Hoyde, Anton Danyluk, Samira Mighty, Curtis Pritchard, Olivia Bowen and Dani Dyer.

In Ekin-Su’s she introduced herself as Susie, which has confused a few people. But, when she was on the show, The Tab revealed Ekin lived a whole other life prior to Love Island, and has gone by three different names in the past.
