Revealed: Ekin-Su used to live a completely different life and has gone by THREE other names

It turns out the life Ekin-Su was living before Love Island was completely different. She’s gained fame from being in the villa twice now, and her life is all glamour, influencing and reality TV. But, back in the day, Ekin had a party girl life at uni life, and craved being famous. People who knew her back then said she completely changed herself to become a celeb, even down to her name.

Over the years, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has been in fashion contests and pursued acting, and has even gone by three different names in her attempts at getting famous. Before entering the 2022 villa she was an actress in Turkey, appearing in soap operas.

But if you go back even further than that, you’ll get deeper into Ekin-Su lore. In 2012, when she was around the age of 18, Ekin was in a fashion contest. She then went to uni, and once appeared on a budget reality show production, called Lancashore. This was alongside her fellow students, whilst studying at the University of Central Lancashire. Ekin-Su studied performing arts.

In the show Ekin-Su went by one of her stage names, Susie Hazel. However she’s also previously gone by Su Hayzel and Su Ekin. She even has a separate Facebook profile under the name Susie Hazel, which is still active today.

In pictures on the page, Ekin-Su is definitely channeling her inner 00s girl, with the trends we were all guilty of doing. Think big, bold eyeliner and paper-thin eyebrows. Her lips appear less full and her hair is completely different.

People who knew her from her uni days have said she was glam, popular and “always wanted to be famous”. Speaking about Ekin-Su at university, a source told The Sun: “She was nice enough, popular with the guys and quite glam for a student. There was always drama surrounding her. She was a character and had high expectations. She liked to be wined and dined with the thought that the guy should always pay.”

Another source from her uni days spoke to MailOnline about her at university, and her following Love Island transformation. They said: “Ekin-Su was definitely a character. Everybody knew who she was at university, and she made sure of that. We only ever knew her as Susie though and it was a surprise when she started going by the name Ekin-Su. She had a strong Essex accent at university, which has changed a lot since she pursued her acting dreams in Turkey.

“Ekin-Su always wanted to be famous, she studied performing arts and after uni competed in Miss World, Miss Ireland, and Miss Central London beauty pageants, so being on Love Island suits her.”

Ekin-Su has always been very open about how much cosmetic surgery she had before the first time she appeared in the villa. She detailed getting fillers, veneers and a boob job. She spent £1,200 on fillers before going on the show, as well as £4,000 on her teeth. The average price for the boob job she had done at the clinic she visited is a further £2,900.
