Applications for The Tab’s Summer Social Media Internship 2025 are now open

Applications close on Friday 30th May

Applications for The Tab Summer Social Media Internship 2025 are now open, and we want the best Tab student contributors to join us at The Tab HQ.

Do you consider yourself to be chronically online? Is your brain a mess of trending sounds and catchphrases? For the first time, we are offering one-week remote placements, which will involve you in every aspect of our social media output, from creating content for our global and student Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook accounts to sourcing viral meme content and understanding how we work behind the scenes. It’s an opportunity to bring your creativity to our channels for a week, and put that social media addiction to good use on a national scale!

Summer internships are given to our best rising stars and those who have been committed and regularly contribute to The Tab.

Due to The Tab HQ staff’s flexible office working, this year’s internships will be offered remotely with the opportunity to come into our London office for one of the five days for any students who can make it work. We have offered remote internships since 2020, and every year they’ve been a complete success, with interns joining the office (virtually) throughout summer.

This year’s Summer Social Media Internship will run Monday-Friday, and will start in June until September. Placements will be one week long.

What will you be doing?

As an intern, you’ll be a member of the HQ social team for the week. When you’re creating social content based on the news cycle, no two days are the same.

Before you start, familiarise yourself with our social platforms:

You will start each day by joining our morning conference, discussing trending topics with the wider HQ team and strategising on how we can best present stories on social media to get them in front of the most people. The ideal candidate is someone comfortable finding original ideas for social content and confidently pitching them.

Each day of the week will be dedicated to learning and creating for a different social platform. By the end of the week, you will have a bursting portfolio of published content across multiple channels. You’ll be guided by the social team throughout the week.

How to apply

To apply for The Tab’s Summer Social Media Internship, please send an email answering the following questions.

  • Based on your knowledge of what’s trending on social, pitch three varied ideas for social posts that you think will blow up. Provide a brief description of each idea and why you chose it.
  • Send links to three social media posts that you have created that you’re most proud of, and in a sentence, tell us why.
  • Tell us, in 100 words, what you, as an intern, would bring to The Tab.

Please email completed applications to [email protected], with your name and which university Tab you contribute to in the subject line. In your email, tell us the dates in June, July, August, and September you are available and whether you would like to spend one day in the London office or be completely remote.

We will consider all applications, but there are limited spots available. Successful candidates will hear from us to arrange a suitable date. We will not be able to provide feedback to unsuccessful applicants.

Applications close at 11.59 pm on Friday 30th May. Good luck!
