It’s time: Nominations are OPEN for The Leeds Tab’s BNOC 2025
If you have to tell everyone you’re a BNOC then you’re probably not one
It’s that time of the year again. It’s better than bagging a Mischief ticket and even better than snagging a seat in Eddy B: It’s BNOC nomination time for the 2024/25 academic year.
For anyone who has been living under a rock and therefore does not know what this, it’s super simple. BNOC stands for Big Name on Campus, meaning anyone who you think is a campus celebrity.
Normally this is the kind of person who you can’t walk through campus with, without at least five people stopping them on the way for a chat while you awkwardly stand beside them. You might also spot a BNOC by their multiple society memberships, silly amount of Instagram followers or their ability to never miss a uni-type event (e.g. Fight Night, Leeds RAG Fashion Show etc).
Your nominee can be a housemate, library crush or just that rando who you seem to spot on campus almost every day without fail.
Once the lucky campus celebs are nominated, all Leeds students can vote from the chosen nominees for this very serious and prestigious title. This includes students from Leeds Beckett and Trinity too!
So, here’s the opportunity you’ve been waiting for to procrastinate that dissertation and to publicly embarrass your friends. All nominated candidates will be contacted on Instagram by our editorial team so make sure to check message requests to be in with a chance to win.
Be speedy! Nominations close at 2pm on Wednesday 30th April.
