Contained 2025: Everything you need to know about Sheffield’s biggest bank holiday festival

50 DJs, four stages, and an all day party

Sheffield’s biggest student-run event Contained will return next month – and this year it’s set to be even bigger than before.

After three consecutive sell-out events in 2024, organisers Organised Chaos are aiming to recreate that same success for 2025.

Taking place over the bank holiday on Sunday May 4th, this year’s edition will be hosted at a new venue: Forge Warehouse on Effingham Road.

Fin McGrath, the event organiser, said: “It has been a great year for the team at CONTAINED. We did three sell outs last year at our old venue SteelYard and we can’t wait to take that energy across to the Forge courtyard and warehouse on the 4th May.”

The event kicks off at 2pm and runs late into the night, with organisers promising an all day and night party atmosphere.

With over 50 DJs attending – including headliner D.O.D – the event hopes to mark “the moment summer truly begins”.

At the event, there will be food vendors on-site, and a line-up with a range of different music genres, Contained 2025 is shaping up to one of the biggest student-run events on Sheffield’s calendar.

Fin said: “We have held events at the FORGE in the past, but this is looking our biggest yet. We can’t wait to welcome the city for the very first CONTAINED Bank Holiday of the year with D.O.D. to kick off summer.

“By having the headliners for the first time, I think it helps raise the profile of the support acts and provide an opportunity to be part of a very eye-catching lineup this year.”

Contained is also teaming up with student-led organisations including the University of Sheffield’s DJ Society and HallamSU Events, as well as other major names on the underground scene such as SuNKeN, Act Bad Events, and Misc Movements.

Fin added: “It has really maintained that grassroots element with all our local brand partners in showcasing everything they are about through their own DJ selections and the opportunity of giving them their own stage.”

With a mix of student and local names next to big artists, the event will showcase a huge mix of talent Sheffield has to offer.
