What is GoodFest?

Hosted by Goodricke College, GoodFest is York’s very own student-run music festival, bringing together live performances, local talent, and a laid back outdoor atmosphere. Open to students from all colleges, it’s one of the biggest cross-campus events of the year.
Let’s not forget that GoodFest 2019 was headlined by Tinchy Stryder…
This year, it all kicks off on Sunday 27th April, from 5:00pm to 9:30pm, in the Law and Sociology courtyard on Campus East – and yes, everyone’s welcome.
GoodFest has grown into a York staple, known for showcasing rising stars in the uni music scene. Many of York’s favourite student bands got their start on the GoodFest stage – could you discover the next big thing?
What’s new for 2025?

This year GoodFest is levelling up with fresh additions that make it more than just a gig…
Firstly, a bigger lineup: Six student bands will take to the stage. The Tonics, Substate, The Blazers, The Expression, Catch, and Cavalier. From indie to alt-rock and everything in between, expect a fun packed evening of homegrown talent.
A new location: The Law and Sociology courtyard offers a more open, atmospheric setting – perfect for dancing the night away!
And more to explore: Think festival village meets uni social. Enjoy poster stalls, face painting, friendship bracelet making, vintage clothing, and more. It’s the ultimate pre-summer send off.
