All the best places to go in York on a spring hot girl walk
Because spring hot girl walks are a necessity in deadline season
Spring has officially sprung in York and if you are looking for a wider variety of routes for your spring hot girl walk, or looking to explore somewhere new, look no further. I have created a list of seven of the best routes around York with my own ranking of each just for you!
Heslington Village
If you are looking for a walk close to campus, but fancy walking a bit further away from uni, then Heslington Village is perfect! There are lots of different loops you can explore in Heslington, but we started by walking down Main Street and turning left onto Low Lane. We then followed Low Lane onto School Lane, walked back down Main Street and Heslington Lane, before reaching Halifax and the outgang, and walking back round. This walk was really scenic and there were two great reasons for a break along the way: the first was to pet a donkey, and the second was for the swings in the outgang. There’s also the added bonus of the Charles pub being on this route…
Walk rating: 8/10
Walmgate Stray- Uni Campus/Heslington
This walk starts just past Wentworth College, and we did a long loop round near Fulford, and ended up on Thief Lane. I would definitely recommend this walk in the spring months, but definitely come prepared to be walking through mud! The walk itself also lost points on my rating for being quite confusing to follow, but was still really enjoyable!
Walk rating: 7/10
River Ouse- City Centre
Most Read
I also did some walks in York city centre which I would recommend- the first is doing a circuit surrounding the River Ouse. I started by Clifford’s Tower and walked through Tower Gardens, and then all the way down to Millenium Bridge, before walking across it and walking back to Clifford’s Tower. The walk is beautiful, and took about 30 minutes in total. You are also surrounded by trees- plus there is the added bonus of the cafes and ice cream boat on the walk too!
Walk rating: 7.5/10
City Walls- City Centre
Another very popular walk in the city centre is of course, walking the City Walls! I started at Monk Bar and walked round to Bootham Bar, however you can start at any entrance on the trail. If you are looking for a quieter spring walk, this might not be the best option, but it’s a walk with incredible views and definitely one that I would recommend for at least once whilst studying in York!
Walk rating: 9/10
York Cat Trail- City Centre
Another city centre walk for a spring hot girl walk, is the cat trail in York. The trail starts at the cat shop on Coney Street, and there are 25 different cats to find along the way in the city centre, including some cats by the Minster, the Shambles, and Piccadilly. Some of the cats are more difficult to find than others, so make sure to be prepared for some focused cat-spotting!
Walk rating: 8.5/10
Foss Fairy Trail- Tang Hall
One of my favourite walks to do in York is along the Foss Fairy Trail, which you can find between Foss Islands and the Heworth Inn in Tang Hall. The walk features different models of fairy houses, some designed by children from primary schools in the local area. The whole trail took me 20-30 minutes in total, and was beautiful, especially in the sunshine.
Walk rating: 10/10
Foss Islands Path/Osbaldwick
The final spring hot girl walk is in Osbaldwick. I walked from Tang Hall to Osbaldwick following the Foss Islands Path all the way through. It is a really nice walk through, especially in the sunshine, and I eventually reached Osbaldwick Village, which is also a really pretty area to walk through. There is also the Osbaldwick Circular- a woodland trail that you can follow, however this is one that I would recommend for later in spring, as it was very muddy!
Walk rating: 6/10
With spring finally arriving and the (hopefully) good weather coming up, there is no better time to explore some new spring hot girl walks. Hopefully you will be inspired by some new routes and locations, whether you prefer a city or woodland walk. Happy walking!
