Woody Harrelson confesses the rather iconic reason he quit The White Lotus season three

The White Lotus season three has been pretty divisive, and not everyone has loved it as much as the previous two seasons. But one thing that would have thrown a major dynamic shake up into the proceedings is the fact that Woody Harrelson has revealed he nearly was cast in the show but actually quit before he got finalised as part of the cast. He nearly played either Rick (Walton Goggins) or Frank (Sam Rockwell) but eventually left the runnings. Not because of money or the usual stuff, but Woody Harrelson revealed he quit The White Lotus season three for this actually very surprising and iconic reason.

Previously it was rumoured to be about money

When the speculation first emerged about why Woody Harrelson turned down The White Lotus, there were a lot of rumours that it was money related. This is because one of the chief producers had a rule that everyone’s salary was the same across the board – which I actually think is very refreshing personally.

Now, though, Woody Harrelson has actually given a statement to The Daily Beast about why he didn’t end up in season three of The White Lotus – and I’m not going to lie, it’s both ironic and iconic.

“I was set to do The White Lotus and very excited,” Harrelson said. “Unfortunately, their production schedule shifted, and conflicted with a pre-planned family vacation, forcing me to make an extremely hard decision. Things must be meant to be though because I couldn’t have done as fantastic a job as Sam, who is killing it.”

He didn’t do a show about a fancy holiday to go on a fancy family holiday
