‘Piper, NO!’: Where is Parker Posey’s viral The White Lotus TikTok sound actually from?

Parker Posey once again proved her queen status by unintentionally creating a viral TikTok sound based on her The White Lotus character, Victoria Ratliff.

The White Lotus has a habit of bringing together a pool of talent you wouldn’t normally expect. The casting director rarely misses, and season three is no different. You’ve got Harry Potter legend Jason Isaacs, Aimee Lou Wood, Leslie Bibb, Walton Goggins, and Parker Posey, to name but a few. Oh, and Patrick Schwarzenegger is there too and without any help from Daddy – apparently.

Parker Posey was an icon long before she flew into Thailand for what was essentially an all-expenses paid vacation, and this viral TikTok sound is but another stamp on her pop culture passport.

Where does Parker Posey’s The White Lotus TikTok sound come from?

By now, you’ve probably heard the unmistakable rasp of Victoria’s North Carolina accent in clips and videos circulating on TikTok. Though she does have countless catchy lines in the show itself – namely, “You want to live in TAIWAN?!” – her TikTok sound is actually from the real world.

At the start of March, Parker Posey was featured on TODAY to discuss her character in The White Lotus season three and specifically the accent.

“It starts with the dialogue. There are such funny words like, I love ‘Piper, No’ ‘Tsunami!’ ‘Buddhism.’ ‘No…NO!” she said, and a viral sensation was born.

Even her fellow cast members are in awe of her stardom, with Patrick also going on TODAY to talk about the season and Parker’s unique way of delivering lines.

“Everyone just starts cracking up in these scenes,” he said. “That’s why we filmed for seven months, by the way, is because of Parker Posey.”

Of course, this is not the only viral moment to have been sparked by The White Lotus season three, and besides Jason Isaacs’ full-frontal moment, the most outrageous scene yet has to be the incest. The kiss – and later some hand action – was between brothers Lochlan and Saxon.

Addressing the icky moment, Lochlan actor Sam Nivola told Variety: “It was really weird. Patrick is a really good friend, and we’re both straight. It was just uncomfortable. Kissing him felt… f**ked up.”

In another eye-roll statement, Patrick Schwarzenegger also recalled: “Was a power shift happening? Is there a different power dynamic between him and Lochy? Is Lochy coming on to him? Is it the drugs? Is it the girls pressuring him? What is it? So, I think he leaves that open-ended for the audience to try to decipher.”
