Jason Isaacs dragged for ‘weird’ comments about Mikey Madison’s nude scenes in Anora
He claims there are ‘double standards’ with people discussing if he wore a prosthetic in The White Lotus
Jason Isaacs hasn’t really been out of the public sphere since he started starring in season three of The White Lotus – and that was before he went full frontal in last week’s episode. As is usually the case when people have their full package out on the TV, the internet has been full of speculation on whether Jason Isaacs decided to use a prosthetic for when he went on show during the previous episode. He’s been quite tight lipped about whether he used a prosthetic or not – until Jason Isaacs decided to go on a bit of a rant about what he deemed to be double standards regarding naked scenes in film and TV and dragged Mikey Madison into it all. The comments have not gone down particularly well at all.
Since Jason Isaacs started talking about the naked scenes – and mentioning women like Mikey Madison and Margaret Qualley – the Twitter response has been, err, mixed to say the least.
What did he actually say?

In an interview with Variety, Jason Isaacs shut down any debate about whether he did or didn’t use a prosthetic in The White Lotus full frontal moment.
“A lot of people are debating it. It’s all over the internet. And it’s interesting because the best actress this year is Mikey Madison at the Oscars. And I don’t see anybody discussing her vulva, which was on [the screen] all the time…It’s interesting that there’s a double standard for men. But when women are naked, Margaret Qualley as well, in ‘The Substance,’ nobody would dream of talking to her about her genitalia or her nipples or any of those things. So, it’s odd that there’s a double standard.”

Whilst Jason Isaacs has every right to call out speculation about his manhood in the scene, it’s bizarre that he decided to discuss it with Mikey Madison and Margaret Qualley. Qualley has been open about using prosthetic boobs for scenes naked as Sue in The Substance – and the comment about Mikey Madison’s “vulva” are particularly jarring since she didn’t go full frontal in Anora.
The response to his comments
In the replies to the comments made by Jason Isaacs regarding getting dragged for his on if he used a prosthetic in The White Lotus, one tweet said “Men want to be oppressed so bad”. Others called it out as “weird” or that he was saying too much.
One particularly interesting response theorised “He has a point, but it’s kinda more complicated than that imo. People aren’t freaking out over female nudity because honestly, it’s been normalised in film for ages. Meanwhile, male full-frontal still gets people talking just because it’s rarer. It’s not really a double standard in the way he’s saying but it’s more like women’s bodies have been picked apart for so long that no one bats an eye anymore, which is its own problem.”
