Police scours CCTV footage after ‘armed and masked’ gang chase Birmingham students

West Midlands Police has started a CCTV investigation after a “masked group with weapons” chased a group of Birmingham students outside a school earlier this month.

The MailOnline reported that the alleged incident took place on Shannon Road in Kings Norton, and officers are currently scouring CCTV footage to uncover more details about what took place.

There have been no reported injuries from this incident, and no arrests have yet been made. The police investigation is ongoing.

The police is currently interviewing witnesses to try and uncover the identity of the masked gang, but has also appealed to witnesses or anyone who may have information.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We’re investigating reports of disorder on Shannon Road, Birmingham, at around 3.40pm on Monday (10 March).

“A group of students reported being chased by another group who were wearing masks and reportedly carrying weapons.

“No injuries were reported.

“We are reviewing CCTV and will be speaking to witnesses as our enquiries to identify those involved continue.

“We are committed to tackling serious youth violence and continue to work with local schools and colleges to educate young people around the dangers of carrying weapons.”

The force has asked anyone with information to contact officers through Live Chat or by calling 101 and mentioning the criminal reference number 20/170961/25.
