Police went to arrest Zou for one rape but would soon find evidence of 10 more assaults
Footage has been released showing the moment a UCL student was arrested for raping and drugging 10 women.
Zhenhao Zou was found guilty today (5th March) for 11 counts of rape, taking place from 2019 to 2023.
He was also found guilty for 24 other offences, including three counts of voyeurism, 12 of possession of extreme pornographic images, one of false imprisonment, and eight of possession of drugs with intent to commit a sexual offence.
In the video, which is police body cam footage recorded on 24th January 2024, police can be seen arriving at Zou’s home.
After knocking on the door, a shocked-looking Zou opens the door and confirms his identity. Officers then enter his flat as he searches for an ID to confirm his name.
When he hands the officers his ID in his bedroom, the recording officer then tells him he is under arrest, stating: “I’m arresting you on suspicion of rape after it was alleged on the 14th of November last year, you vaginally raped a female at this address.”
As the officer continues, Zou is then handcuffed, and his time of arrest is read to him as 1:53am.
The now-convicted rapist asks the officer to let him have a jacket, and after she confirms he can have one, he is led towards his bedroom door before the footage ends.
Police later found a number of items in Zou’s flat, including SD cards and hidden cameras that contained evidence of him raping 10 women.
Officers also found drugs, including bottles of Butanediol which were used to drug and incapacitate his victims.
Xanax, MDMA, and ketamine were also found.
Only two of his victims have been identified by police, with the two identified women providing evidence to the court via victim statements.
