Man charged after knife attack on Salisbury Road in Cathays

The victim is currently in hospital with ‘serious injuries’


A man has been charged after the knife attack on Salisbury Road in Cathays.

Abdul Ali, 19, has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

On 25th February at approximately 11:30pm, South Wales Police was called to Cathays after a man was wounded in a “serious assault” with a knife.

Officers cordoned off the area around Gassy’s where the attack took place, and students reported hearing a helicopter near the scene.

Mr Ali, of Salisbury Road, will be appearing at Cardiff Magistrates Court today (27th February).

According to South Wales Police, the two other men who were arrested have been released on bail.

The 33-year-old victim is still currently in hospital with “serious injuries” but his condition is stable.
