Um, Shona just said she’s ‘semi-engaged’ after Matt’s cringe MAFS reunion ‘proposal’?!

The MAFS reunion aired last night and it was as chaotic as ever, with arguments, tears and a proposal! Matt gifted Shona a promise ring and did a super soppy speech telling her how much he loves her.

It was all a bit cringe and dramatic, seeing as it wasn’t even a real proposal, but Shona clearly thinks it’s a pretty big deal. She has opened up about the whole thing on Instagram and said that she’s “semi-engaged”?!

“I said yes!!! hehe I’m semi-engaged to @mattpilmoor. I love my promise ring it was such a cute & thoughtful way to end our journey on MAFS,” she wrote.

“I knew he was planning something but I wasn’t sure what it was. I’m so in my own world one of the producers took my ring off me to get my ring size and I didn’t clock she distracted me so well.”

“I still can’t believe how it all worked out & after it all, it was Matty. From dark energy to pure warmth & light never stop believing in real love! Matty you are my forever & I can’t wait to marry you one day!”

She said his speech was “sooo special and emotional” and it made her “heart burst” because he was super nervous about reading out loud and it was really out of his comfort zone.

In the comments, people are roasting the whole thing, with one person writing: “Semi-engaged isn’t a thing, either you are or you aren’t.”

“Don’t see the point in a promise ring, congratulations anyway,” said another while a third asked: “What’s a promise ring?”

It’s supposed to signify commitment in a relationship, but most people think the whole thing is just cringe and unnecessary.

Shona then shared a picture of Matt’s entire speech, which gushes about their relationship over the past one year and four months. Yes, they’ve only been together for just over a year.

“I want to show you how committed I am with this ring, and to promise you an amazing future with lots of fun, travelling and making memories,” he said.

Shona was paired with Brad Skelly and Matt with Adrienne Naylor on their season of MAFS, and the pair didn’t realise they had a spark until the first reunion.

Shona and Matt walked out at the second MAFS reunion as boyfriend and girlfriend. Then, he ‘proposed’ at the third. Wow, I wonder what will happen at the fourth one!
