Um, girl who thinks she’s Madeleine McCann has been ARRESTED for ‘stalking Kate and Gerry’

The girl who thinks she’s Madeleine McCann has been arrested as she arrived in the UK, it’s been reported. Julia Wandelt had gone viral once again recently, with new DNA claims.

According to The Sun, Julia had flown to Bristol airport last night, and upon her arrival was arrested. She was detained on suspicion of stalking and harassing Madeleine’s parents, Kate and Gerry. Julia’s rep, Surjit Singh Clair, confirmed to the publication that she “remains in custody”.

MailOnline has since reported Julia flew from Poland and was due to meet a friend in Cardiff. A further friend – in their 60s – is also said to have been arrested alongside Julia.

Julia’s rep said: “She was arrested at around 8pm in Bristol airport and remains in custody. I’m not prepared to make any further comment.” They did then add: “The police have reportedly arrested her on an allegation of stalking and harassing the McCanns.”

The police have confirmed the incident. A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police told The Sun: “Last night (Wednesday 19 February) two women were arrested at Bristol Airport as part of an ongoing investigation.

“A 23-year-old woman from Poland and a 60-year-old woman from Wales were arrested on suspicion of stalking involving serious alarm/distress. They both remain in custody and enquiries are continuing.”

Julia first went viral in 2023 because she believed she was missing girl, Madeleine McCann. She started sharing her “evidence”, doing Instagram lives and even called for a DNA test. The story went so big, it even got a response from the McCann family. In recent weeks, she’s been back doing it all over again.
