Joey Essex furiously denies he had any involvement in the Grace Love Island texts scandal
He’s clapped back at claims Grace was texting him saying she wanted to win All Stars
Joey Essex has told The Tab he had absolutely no involvement in the ongoing drama with Grace and apparent texts she sent before Love Island All Stars. It was previously claimed Grace sent a bunch of messages before the show, all about how much she wanted to win.
The drama all started on Sunday, when we saw the dumped All Stars Islanders come back to decide on one couple to dump ahead of the final.
On the show, Olivia Hawkins said: “So I’ve seen text messages of Grace just saying to someone that she’ll do whatever it takes to win the show.” The other Islanders were shook, and Grace demanded to know who the messages were from. Liv wouldn’t say. “I’ve literally got the receipts,” Liv claimed. Samie then added: “We’ve all seen the screenshots.”
Then, the internet went wild for it. Screenshots of alleged messages went viral. One conversation which circulated across TikTok, appeared to be between Grace and Joey Essex. Joey is her ex and former Love Island 2024 Islander. In the All Stars villa, Grace did say she and Joey had exchanged messages recently.

“I am being dead serious we can bet on it. I will win this,” the texts read. In the same message thread, it appeared to show Grace saying “No Joey”. The original poster claimed Joey himself was the source of the leak.
In her first interview since the show, Grace has doubled down and denied the legitimacy of the screenshots. Joey Essex has done the same, and told The Tab any messages with his name next to them are fake.

A rep for Joey told us: “We understand a lot of these messages doing the rounds on social media to be fake and not from Joey.” It’s also widely thought the majority, if not all, of the messages going around have been made up.
Joey has also denied being the source of any apparent message leaks. Well, that’s that one then!
