Everything you need to know about the Glasgow Charity Fashion Show

Blocking out a full day in my diary for 1st March 2025

The Glasgow Charity Fashion Show (GCFS) is taking place on the 1st March at the Old Fruit Market in Merchant City. Already, after only being on sale from the 20th of January the first three ticket releases are sold out with only final release, VIP, and Platinum VIP left.

The Glasgow Tab went down to GCFS’s press event, and got the full run down on what to expect at the event. So, let’s get into it.

What is GCFS?

The GCFS is run entirely by students in Glasgow and the clothes used in the show are designed by current or former Glasgow School of Art students, which is a fantastic way for them to get exposure.

Who is GCFS supporting?

Organisers select their charity for the year through an application process then narrow it down through stages of voting, so that everyone is happy with the outcome.

This year it is CHAS – Children’s Hospice Across Scotland. CHAS supports children and families in life, death, and beyond. They work with these families from the point of diagnosis, focusing on illness which could mean your child may die young. They also help families live through the complexities and uncertainty that these diagnoses can bring as well as the grief that will unfortunately follow.

They do incredible work for families going through incredibly difficult times, you can find out more and donate here.

Who is sponsoring GCFS?

GCFS works with some great sponsors who support them in multiple ways. Their longest standing sponsor is Selective Personnel, who they have a lovely relationship with, something I witnessed first hand attending the press event.

Selective Personnel is a hospitality event staff agency perfect for students, and offers flexible work to some of the people involved in the charity fashion show when they need it.

It was a really lovely event, filled with interesting people all supporting a good cause and based on how successful it was I have extremely high expectations for the fashion show.

So, why should you go to GCFS?

If nothing else, GCFS is a fantastic opportunity to dress up in your best black tie threads and see some incredible up and coming fashion. But what is so great is that it is so much more than that. Entirely focused on growing the fashion industry in Scotlandm GCFS offers opportunities to Scottish designers, offers sponsorship and exposure to local businesses, and supports local charities.
