A rundown of what happened between Elma and Sammy, who knew each other before All Stars

The latest Love Island All Stars bombshell is previous winner Sammy Root, and it turns out he has a bit of a history with Elma. Elma has been in the All Stars villa since day one, but might get a bit of a shock when Sammy shows up.

The pair have known each other for a couple of years, and ahead of his bombshell entrance, Sammy has more than hinted their could be unsolved business. Sammy has just joined the villa alongside series three Islander, Danielle Sellers.

So, here’s a rundown of how Elma and Sammy knew each other before Love Island All Stars, and what went down between them.

Elma and Sammy met on the TOWIE circuit. They both went on the reality show after their first stints on Love Island. Sammy and Elma were rumoured to be dating in 2023. Then, it was announced he was joining the cast of TOWIE – of which Elma was already a part. At the time Elma said she and Sammy had known each other for “a little while” and she described him as a “lovely boy.”

The pair got very flirty and close during their time filming the show together, but it doesn’t look as though anything serious ever came of it.

A source told The Sun: “Elma has said the attraction with Sammy was nothing more than flirtation as she’s conscious they have an age gap of nearly 10 years, but Love Island execs hope under the South African sun, love could bloom.

“Sammy is pals with a few of the lads too including Casey and Ron so will slot right in. He’s All Stars’ second winner too, joining Ekin in that accolade.”

Is there a chance Elma and Sammy might get together?

Ahead of going back on the show, Sammy said: “Last time I was very much a boy and was immature at times in terms of not thinking about my actions beforehand. Now looking back, I feel like I’ve changed a lot and I’d like to think I’ve grown from a boy to a gentleman.

“I just want someone that’s outgoing, adventurous, happy and just a jolly person that I can have fun with.”

He did make a slight hint that there are people in the villa he already knows, and that it will go one of two ways when they reunite. “For the people I have met before, I’m excited to see them again, but who knows – it could be fun or it might be awkward,” he said.
