Wait, this massive Squid Game 2 clue confirms Captain Park is a previous winner
The season one foreshadowing was WILD
Captain Park was a complete game changer for Squid Game 2, and I couldn’t believe my eyes when he was a traitor (despite it being super obvious on a second watch). He’s a true baddie and Detective Jun-ho is about to find out everything in season three. However, there’s actually a huge clue in the first season of Squid Game that basically confirms Captain Park was a previous winner of the games.
The mysterious clue dates back to season one
In Squid Game season one, episode five, Detective Jun-ho discovers a clue about Captain Park while snooping around in the Squid archives, although it’s not what he’s looking for. His focus is on the fact that his brother, In-ho, won the games in 2015. However, at the start of the page, you can see a lot of names listed.
Netflix’s English dub isn’t great, and it certainly can’t translate writing as we see it on the page yet. Therefore, if you’re not fluent in Korean, you probably have no idea that the 1990 winner of the third Squid Game was somebody called Park Pil-sam, Player 28. Whatttt!
We know Captain Park has a connection to the Squid Game, and from what we can tell, those involved with running the games (like the Front Man) are previous winners of it. I’ll bet you 45.6 million won that the theory turns out to be true, and Captain Park is in fact a previous Squid Game winner.
What about the number on his boat?

Other viewers noticed another way Captain Park could be linked as a previous winner of the games. In episode one of season two, we meet the captain for the first time on his boat. There’s a large number 122 on the side, which seems very randomly placed. Is the boat called 122? It’s not very typical to name your boat after a number.
People have speculated that it means Captain Park was player 122, which was a winner in 2006 according to the document Jun-ho found. The winner’s name was Son Jeong-hee, which obviously doesn’t match up to Captain Park – unless of course he is lying about his name. At this point, I’m not turning any ideas away.
