Squid Game 2 left us with so many plot twists, but that meant we also had to deal with so many unanswered questions we’ll have to wait until season three to answer. We met all 456 new players as well as Jun-ho and the gang who are hunting down Squid Games, which means there was a whole lot more story to get our heads around. Here are the 10 burning questions Squid Game NEEDS to answer in season three, otherwise I’m cancelling my Netflix subscription.

How are the guards recruited?

One huge pressing question is how the guards actually get recruited. We’ve seen how the players get picked, obviously, but it’s not ever been explicitly shown how the guards are chosen. Do they get slapped by the gorgeous recruiter too? People online came up with a great theory but it’s yet to be proven true.

Who is the square guard running the games while In-ho is playing?

Who is the guard all in black who’s currently overseeing all of the games and managing the masked guards? He seems to know Shooter 011 pretty well too, so hopefully, we learn more about their relationship in season three.

Are there Squid Games in other countries?

This question has to be one of the most intriguing of all: Are Squid Games taking place all over the world? It seems like such a high-tech operation that it could keep on going anywhere without being found out. Think of all those tiny little islands in The Outer Hebrides: It could be happening in Squid Game world a lot closer than we think…

This question has literally been eating me alive. There have been over 30 Squid Games canonically, so what happened to the rest of the winners? Are they the VIPs? Was the Front Man once a player? Would Gi-hun have followed that same fate if he’d gotten on the plane at the end of season one? I’m dying to know if any previous winners will make an appearance in season three.

Who will become the next Front Man?

The fate of the Front Man is currently uncertain. In-ho is still reigning supreme, but with a player revolt on his hands, his position could be in danger. Who knows what we’ll be dealing with next season!

What will happen to Player 222’s baby?

Player 222 is currently pregnant, and judging by the last Squid Game season, only one person is making it out alive (unless the player revolt miraculously succeeds) and it’s very likely to be Player 222 thanks to Korean mythology. What does life look like for a Squid Game baby?

Will Shooter 011 be reunited with her daughter?

Despite being on the other side of the games, Shooter 011 has a tragic need for money. Her daughter is still in North Korea, where she defected from, and she’s doing everything in her power to get her back – even if it means killing people in Squid Game. Will they ever meet again? Even though she’s kind of a villain, I really hope so.

What will happen to the girl in the strawberry hat?

If you don’t remember, Player 246’s daughter is the little girl in the strawberry hat with cancer. Player 246 went into the games to pay for her medical treatment, but he was shot in the player revolt. We don’t actually know if he’s still alive or not, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

Will Jun-ho and his brother sort things out?

Jun-ho’s brother may be the Front Man, but he’s still his brother. Will they work things out and put and end to the games? I honestly can’t see how the Front Man could ever be redeemed after what he’s put everyone through, but you never know.

Will Gi-hun ever see his daughter again?

If you forgot, Gi-hun has a daughter and she was very present in season one. However, in season two she seems to be mostly out of the picture, with Gi-hun disappearing from her and his ex-wife’s lives in order to fixate on the games. It’s unclear if they’ll see each other again, especially if Gi-hun doesn’t make it out. I need answers right now!
