I can’t believe we all missed this obvious Squid Game 2 editing error

I actually can’t unsee it now

Squid Game 2 has literally taken over Netflix since its release and it’s been all anyone’s talking about since Boxing Day. It had 68 million views, breaking the previous record of 50.1 million views for an opening debut. Season two is basically a masterpiece and despite the gaping plot holes, it’s been particularly difficult to find any editing errors this season. However, one error managed to slip past the producers and, in classic fashion, it’s being shared all over the Squid Game corner of the internet. Here’s the Squid Game 2 editing error you definitely missed, but now won’t be able to unsee.

The editing error was seen in episode one

In Squid Game 2, there’s an editing error that’s super obvious once you spot it. During episode one, Detective Jun-ho is having dinner with his mother and they’re having a very intense conversation about Jun-ho’s brother, In-ho. We learn a lot about his wife’s battle with cancer and how much their family has struggled, but Jun-ho keeps what he knows about his brother’s location under wraps.

This deep chat took away from the obvious jumping around the producers did with the footage in post-production. Jun-ho and his mother’s conversation flows normally, yet one minute Jun-ho has noodles on his chopsticks, and the next they’re sat empty in a completely different bowl. Come on now!

Eagle-eyed viewers will have also noticed that the bowl of rice sitting in front of him kept changing from being full to the brim to completely empty in back-to-back shots. It’s an obvious mistake and definitely slipped past the eyes of anyone on the production team!

I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for editing errors in Squid Game 3 this year.
