All the messy plot holes in Squid Game 2 that will literally ruin the show for you
Some of these were way too obvious to be kept in
Squid Game 2 took Netflix by storm and has already smashed so many streaming records. The show is honestly a masterpiece, yet there are so many gaping plot holes along the way that might actually ruin Squid Game 2 for you. Here is a rundown of the worst ones that will make you question everything you thought you knew about the show.
Gi-hun’s red hair completely disappearing
One minute Gi-hun had red hair, and the next it was gone without any explanation. The red hair was such a key part of the season one ending which levelled up his confidence and new persona. Now, he’s just reverted back into the old Gi-hun with no reason why. I’d love to know why the producers went this way, or even gave him red hair in the first place.
Gi-hun wasn’t suspicious of Player 001 even after last time
In Squid Game season one, Player 001 is the old man Oh Il-nam, who is uncovered to be the games’ rich creator. Gi-Hun found out that he was behind the games, so why wasn’t he suspicious of Player 001 in season two? It doesn’t make any sense at all. In fact, he was so trustful of him that I didn’t even clock he was the Front Man until the very last episode. Come on Gi-hun, get a grip!
Thanos being allowed to take in his necklace filled with drugs
Most Read
It doesn’t make any sense why Gi-hun’s literal tooth got de-chipped yet Thanos was allowed to bring in an entire necklace filled with drugs. There have been some reasonable explanations of this theory, but I’m still not convinced.
Detective In-ho not telling Gi-hun the Front Man was his brother
The whole series could have been one episode if In-ho had told literally ANYBODY that the Front Man was in fact his brother. Why on earth would he keep that information to himself?! It could have saved Gi-hun’s revolution efforts and hundreds of lives. Gi-hun could have killed him instantly, convinced him to stop the games or tell him the location had been found and the police were on their way, stopping the games instantly. The real villain of Squid Game is In-ho and I’ll hear nothing more on the matter.
Shooter 011’s story is too unclear to be rooting for her
Shooter 011 has been a small but impactful part of Squid Game 2 and at the same time, one of the biggest plot holes. It’s so unclear where her moral stance is that it’s impossible to root for her as a goodie or a baddie. She seemed to have a soft spot for Player 246’s daughter, yet has been ruthlessly killing people in the games. I also felt for her when she was attacked by two other shooters, yet she’s been a gunman for seven years. I literally don’t understand her character and I’m losing interest in it.
Gi-hun’s plan for the revolution comes out of nowhere
There’s a reason people have been saying that Squid Game 2’s ending was rushed. It’s because Gi-hun’s plan for the revolution comes out of nowhere. We don’t see any evidence of him plotting it at all and he seems to just wing it with all his pals following along blindly. Where was the preparation? Where did these ideas come from? It looks like a very holey plot like this.
For a detective, In-ho was not at all suspicious enough of the captain
In-ho has already PISSED me off, but one of the silliest things he did in the whole series was not to question the captain. Do you mean to tell me you’ve been circling the same bit of water for YEARS and still haven’t found a trace of Squid Game Island? Even when the games were actually on and 456 players were being sailed there? Come ON, it’s obviously a misdirection. Even us viewers could see it!
