There’s already a crazy link between Player 246 and Shooter 011 in Squid Game 2

Squid Game has once again taken Netflix by storm with season two breaking huge streaming records across the globe. Many of the stars of Squid Game 2 are familiar faces across Netflix, but there’s one crazy pre-existing connection between Player 246, who is the dad of the young girl with cancer, and the ex-bunny, Shooter 011.

The connection between Shooter 011 and Player 246 is one of the most interesting yet tragic storylines in Squid Game 2, and it’s a huge loose end season three will have to tie up. However, there’s a bit of an invisible string between the actors who are playing the roles as both Park Gyu-young and Lee Jin-wook. They were previously in the popular Korean Netflix show Sweet Home before being cast in Squid Game 2.

Shooter 011 and Player 246’s story in Squid Game season 2 became a Sweet Home reunion for the two. Park Gyu-young got her big break from Sweet Home and starred in seasons one and two. Unfortunately, her storyline got cut and she didn’t return for season three.

Lee Jin-wook, who plays Player 246 actually played two characters in Sweet Home. In season one, Lee played the anti-hero Sang-wook. Although Sang-wook died in the season one finale, his body got inhabited by a different character. This made it so that Lee Jin-wook could return in Sweet Home season two as Nam Sang-woon, whose powers let him switch bodies. I know right?!

So while Park Gyu-young and Lee Jin-wook’s characters in Squid Game don’t really interact much in season two, their stories are heavily connected. It’s a wacky coincidence that they’re at odds with each other without even knowing it.

So, what will happen to the little girl, Na-yeon?

Na-yeon’s fate is pretty unclear right now, but there are a few things that could happen and a few things that are still unclear. Firstly, it’s possible that Shooter 011 could have pulled the trigger.

Also, while he appears to be dead, it’s possible that Player 246 survived the bullet and will live on. In Squid Game world, anything is possible, so I guess we’ll just have to patiently wait for season three.
