Ex The Traitors player has just debunked the last for breakfast strategy once and for all
Okay panic over guys
Since The Traitors burst back onto the telly for 2025, there have been multiple murmurs and grumpy mumblings about a tactic strategy that Faithfuls could use every breakfast to basically keep a log of who is likely a Faithful and who the Traitors are targeting. I’ve seen this all over social media from Facebook to TikTok, and I was a believer. Now, though, a classic player of The Traitors has debunked the breakfast strategy theory and says it actually does not work all the time or even get used by production of the show.
If you’ve been watching The Traitors for a while now, you’ll know that whenever the Traitors meet in the tower they always discuss at least three potential targets for murder. When the Traitors are discussing, you’ll see the little camp clips of who they’re discussing in a room in the castle. We never know who The Traitors select until breakfast the next day and we see who joins the group and survived. But this The Traitors theory about breakfast shows how the Faithfuls should be wising up to whoever comes in last.
Ivan Brett, who left the show early back in season one after getting banished, did a lengthy thread on Twitter / X explaining how this is not always the case though and that people should basically chill out a bit on the theory.
Quite often I’m told how because the final two or three players arriving for breakfast on #TheTraitors are always Faithful, this is a game-solving clue that the other players never use. Well, here’s why the Late Faithful (Laithful) strategy is categorically wrong. A 🧵… pic.twitter.com/Ol2VvzaSv6

Writing in his thread on Twitter, Ivan explained “Quite often I’m told how because the final two or three players arriving for breakfast on The Traitors are always Faithful this is a game-solving queue that the other players never use. Here’s why the Late Faithful (Laithful) strategy is categorically wrong.
“While it’s true to say that in Season one this tended to happen, it didn’t always. In episode four, Amanda was last to turn up to breakfast. Nobody was murdered that night, but they still used it as an opportunity to break the Laithful pattern.
Ivan continued: “But even without that, you only spot this pattern of no Late Traitors (lators?) if you *already know* who the traitors are. Faithfuls are sus of everyone and only discover traitors once banished. We all tracked votes, friendships, but breakfast arrivals were not being counted.”

Ivan also explained how in season two the show switched it all up even more. “Four times a Traitor was late to breakfast. Another breakfast, two traitors didn’t arrive at all (Dungeon). Four out of nine relevant breakfasts is actually proportionally higher than the proportion of Traitors to Faithfuls.
“So if you’d tried the Laithful strategy in Season 2, we can all agree you’d have been barking up the wrong croissant. I think it’s fair to say, this myth should be busted.”
Whilst it does kind of debunk the whole The Traitors breakfast theory strategy, I would say the show still uses it enough for players to definitely keep an eye on it more than they do? They usually pick someone significant for the final entrances either way!
