Tulisa reveals why she still can’t ‘get away’ from ‘safety blanket’ Fazer after split in 2012

Tulisa has opened up about her relationship with N-Dubz’s Fazer, saying upon reflection he was the only man that ever really mattered.

When Tulisa was competing on I’m A Celeb last month, Fazer spoke out in support of her while encouraging people to embrace her return to showbiz. He issued a similar statement last week after her untimely disappearance to protect her mental health.

Though it’s clear that Fazer holds a lot of love for the woman he’s known most of his life, Tulisa rarely speaks about their relationship. That all changed today when Paul C Brunson published his interview with her.

Tulisa’s relationship history is full of heartbreak and scandal, something she said led her to embrace her demisexual label. But for every MC Ultra there’s a Fazer it seems.

Opening up properly for the first time since I’m A Celeb, Tulisa told the MAFS expert that her N-Dubz bandmate and former flame was her rock during the hard times.

“My safe space was Fazer, like my safety blanket. He was the person that loved me, he was the only person that deserved it, because that is real. That’s real to this day,” she explained.

For years people have questioned whether Fazer and Tulisa will give their love another shot, but unfortunately, that seems to be out of the question. The love is still there, it’s just different.

She continued: “We love each other like family. It doesn’t matter if it’s not romantic anymore. That’s my family, that’s my soul family and the person that I’ve become doesn’t want anyone in my life other than my soul family, especially not when it comes to intimacy.

“He’s the only person, looking back, that means something now.”

Simply put, their 2012 breakup was “inevitable” and despite the mutual attraction, they were “incompatible” according to Tulisa.

“You have two people that are so close, they’re like family close, they’re like friendship close and they have an attraction there and they’re constantly around each other. They can’t get away from each other,” she added. “It’s inevitable, so we just had to go through it to grow through it. But after being in a relationship we’re very different human beings, very, very different, and that’s really what it comes down to.”

It’s probably a good thing Tulisa isn’t looking to rekindle that love because Fazer has been happily with model Ashley Emma since 2013, the year after he split from Tulisa. They now have four kids together, two of which are twins!
