Tulisa’s ex-boyfriend offers his take on her shocking transformation and demisexual label
Fazer had a few choice words for Tulisa’s critics
Tulisa’s ex-boyfriend and bandmate Fazer, full name Richard Rawson, has offered a refreshing take on her shocking transformation and new demisexual label after she opened up on I’m A Celeb.
Tulisa has dated a few big names over the years, though none were as up and down as her relationship with N-Dubz bandmate Fazer. Though they attempted to rekindle their relationship a number of times, they ultimately decided to remain friends and keep making music. Now that loyalty has driven Fazer to back his former flame as she competes for the jungle’s crown.
Fazer urges people to back off Tulisa’s appearance
I never knew that Tulisa has Bells Palsy. I’ve had it twice myself and it’s AWFUL, it was a really bad time and I’m so lucky that I recovered from it so well. Leave the poor girl alone

Years after her iconic X Factor stint, Tulisa returned to the world of reality TV as a member of this year’s I’m A Celeb cast. Almost immediately, viewers took to Twitter with rude comments about Tulisa’s transformation, something Fazer picked up on.
Speaking to The Sun, Fazer applauded his friend for her bravery, explaining: “It was heartbreaking to see. At one point, T won FHM’s Sexiest Woman. You’ve got to think, from that to having Bell’s palsy and trying to fix it … it’s a lot. It’s a lot for any female.”
Weeks before she donned khakis and red socks on I’m A Celeb, Tulisa spoke about her fight against Bell’s palsy while chatting with Olivia Attwood on her podcast. She said the noticeable change was the result of attempting to “balance” her face with facial fillers after the neurological disorder caused one side of her face to drop.
Ultimately, Fazer is hoping that the UK public stand behind Tulisa once they understand the difficulties she’s experienced over the last few years.

“That’s why I feel like the public should be behind T and say, you know what, she’s one of our own, and she’s been through it,” he added.
Fazer was not the only person to issue a statement about Tulisa’s appearance, with close friend Rylan earlier writing on Twitter: “Also before people start going for appearance, Tulisa has been through a lot health wise the last few years so let’s not make shit jokes about her on Twitter yeah x.”
Tulisa has always been a demisexual at heart
In an episode of I’m A Celeb last week, as campmates like Dean McCullough and Alan Halsall discussed dating apps, Tulisa said she identified with the term demisexual. Naturally, viewers flocked to Google for an explanation of the niche sexuality as she confessed, “I feel like I’m demisexual, I need to have a really close emotional bond with someone.”
“Demisexuals are a person [who] feels sexually attracted to someone only after they’ve developed a close emotional bond with them,” the Cleveland Clinic says.
Having known Tulisa since they were at school, Fazer dished on her dating history as he argued that she’s just built that way.
“She has always been like that. She’s always been like a hermit crab that goes inside its shell, you go too close to it, it goes back inside its shell. Her whole life, any sort of relationship that she’s been in has always been long-term for that person, it’s never been short-term,” he said in the same interview. “What she’s saying is absolutely true – that’s just how she feels. It’s like she wants to meet people, but there’s something inside her that doesn’t let her meet people.”
