2019 marked the year that Coleen Rooney famously called out fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy in a Twitter post that sparked a landmark libel case and months of media attention. She accused Rebekah of leaking her private Instagram posts to the press, something she uncovered after setting out on an almost FBI-level investigation.

The initial Twitter post was lengthy, built suspense like the best TV thrillers, and ended with the mic drop of the century.

Now I know for certain which account/individual it’s come from,” Coleen wrote. “I have saved and screenshotted all the original stories which clearly show just one person has viewed them. It’s ……….Rebekah Vardy’s account.”

Ultimately, Rebekah was ordered to pay a whopping £3 million, which covered both her and Coleen’s legal costs. The drama eventually came to be known as Wagatha Christie, a play on whodunnit fiction writer Agatha Christie.
