Remembering Behind Her Eyes: The wildest show Netflix has ever released
I can’t believe we all watched this like it was normal?
Do you ever just wake up one day and remember Behind Her Eyes? Because sure as hell, I do. My boyfriend sometimes calls it “that pigeon show” because of a theory about pigeons when it first came out. Guys, this shit wasn’t normal.
Every week I’ll see a new tweet go viral, talking about what a batshit crazy show it was, and how the ending was nothing like any of us could have imagined.

The six-part drama seemed quite normal on first glance, with the original synopsis explaining it was about a single mother who began an affair with her new boss, before secretly befriending his mysterious wife too. This was then said to get her into a huge web of lies and secrets.
But, the real lies and secrets, and twists and turns were something else. The first character was Louise, who had an affair with her new boss, David. Louise then secretly became friends with her bossâs strange wife, Adele. One of the most important parts here is that Louise is a young mother, suffering from night terrors.
For the most part, the show was pretty slow. And then from episode five onwards it exploded with drama and chaos. We met Rob, oh good ol’ Rob who then live on in my mind forever, and the twist ending that would catch us all off guard.
We found out Adele and David got together after David saved Adele from a fire that killed her parents. David suffered from awful burns, and Adele was sent to rehab to cope with her grief. It was there she met Rob, and they became best friends.

After leaving the mental health facility, Rob and Adele remained friends and Adele and David married. Rob and David seemed to get along well. Then the series skipped to the affair that David and Louise were having and Adele acting letâs just say, weirdly.
At the end of the series, we learned Adele had been leaving her body through astral projection, and had therefore seen everything Louise and David had been getting up to in their affair.
A small detail which ended up being vital, was during their friendship, Adele gave Louise a notebook from Rob, in which he had written about his feelings for Adele and dealing with lucid dreams. Adele said this was to help her friend get over her night terrors, but it was actually part of a bigger plan.
Adele managed to get Louise to turn on David, before it was shown to us that Rob had somehow died, and Adele had covered up the death. See what I mean about things just being thrown at us suddenly from all directions?!
David had helped Adele hide her friend’s body, and during this Adele had chucked David’s watch in a well with the body, meaning he could never leave her, or he’d be implicated in the death. Adele had the control over David she always wanted, in case anything between them went sour.
But, David had enough. He said he was going to the police. So, Adele staged a fire and suicide at their home, knowing Louise would come to her rescue. Louise couldnât get inside, so used her new dream controlling and astral projection skills to leave her body and go towards Adele.
But Adele had left her body too, and used this chance to take over Louiseâs empty body, enter the house and kill the actual Louise, who was now in Adeleâs body.
Losing track yet? Same. Basically, Adele swapped herself with Louise and killed Louise when she was in her old body. Therefore, Adele could live on as Louise, happily ever after with David and he would be none the wiser.
But then the real plot twist hit us. Adele wasn’t even Adele! We saw a flash back of Adele and Rob practicing astral projection, and during it, Rob killed Adele and stayed in her body. So all this time, Adele had been ROB. No wonder she had been acting weird.
But wait, that now means ROB is in LOUISE’s body! Real Adele had been dead since the beginning, as Rob killed her when they first swapped bodies and he took over her, and now real Louise is dead too and Rob is in her body and married to David.
The ending saw David driving who he thought was Louise off into the sunset, with her son in the back. Little did David know he was actually off to start a new life with Rob in Louise’s body, and the boy in the back of his car had just been orphaned.

Also, has anyone checked on Louise’s son yet? I’m still worried about him. Oh and if you’re wondering how pigeons came into this, here’s the pigeon theory explained.
