So, when is Reputation (Taylor’s Version) actually going to drop? Here’s what we know
Swifties have been clowned one too many times
A Reputation (Taylor’s Version) drop has been all any Taylor Swift fan can think about over the last week. The hype for the Wembley closing shows was insane, and people were sure she was going to use the closing night to announce her version of her sixth studio album, Reputation.
So, since the London shows came and went without Taylor breaking the news, we’re all pretty stumped for any more clues on the matter. At least we have a sparkly new music video to keep us entertained!
What do we know about Reputation (Taylor’s Version)?
At the moment, we know very little. We know that she legally had to wait until November 2022 before she could re-record it, so it may sound a little different to the other re-recordings, which she slowly started releasing in 2021. So far, she has dropped re-recordings of four out of the six originals, which are Fearless, Red, Speak Now and 1989.
She did however let us in on a little insider info in her Time person of the year interview at the end of 2023. She spoke about her sixth album, describing it as “a goth-punk moment of female rage at being gaslit by an entire social structure.”
She went on to say: “I think a lot of people see it and they’re just like, Sick snakes and strobe lights,” but promised the vault tracks for Reputation will be “fire.” Now I am just DYING to hear them.

She also told time that the re-recordings project feels like a mythical quest to her. “I’m collecting horcruxes,” she said. “I’m collecting infinity stones. Gandalf’s voice is in my head every time I put out a new one. For me, it is a movie now.”
When is she going to announce its release?
There’s no confirmed date yet, and Taylor is notorious for having everything under wraps until the dramatic announcement itself. However, she did announce Midnights at the 2022 VMAs, and we know she’s already poised to win Artist of the Year and Song of the Year, so it’s very likely she’ll be there again.
Although, some people think she won’t drop Reputation (Taylor’s Version) then, as the 2024 VMAs falls on 9/11. I guess only time will tell, and we can be sure there’ll be no ruining the surprises she’s got in store.
