All we know about Grotesquerie, the new spooky Ryan Murphy show starring Travis Kelce

It’s Travis’ acting debut and he’s set to appear in all 10 episodes

| UPDATED

Another year, another ridiculous Ryan Murphy show looming on the spooky, autumn horizon. Does that man take any annual leave? Probably not. But care not – he’s back, with Grotesquerie. And if the new show is anything like his track record with his other ventures we’re going to get a good pilot, a messy middle and an ending so shite we all will wish we hadn’t bothered. Hey now, this time at least we have an admittedly very slay poster and the talking point of American football star and Taylor Swift’s fella Travis Kelce in a starring role making his acting debut! How about that, eh! Here’s all we know about Travis Kelce and Grotesquerie, the beguiling new Ryan Murphy show.

What is Grotesquerie?

Grotesquerie is the new show from Ryan Murphy, and stars Niecy Nash-Betts as the lead detective, Lesley Manville and Courtney B Vance alongside newcomer Travis Kelce as a town reckons with a sadistic killer. “A series of heinous crimes have unsettled a small community. Detective Lois Tryon (Nash-Betts) feels these crimes are eerily personal, as if someone – or something – is taunting her,” the show’s official logline reads. “At home, Lois grapples with a strained relationship with her daughter, a husband in long-term hospital care and her own inner demons. With no leads and unsure of where to turn, she accepts the help of Sister Megan (Diamond), a nun and journalist with the Catholic Guardian.

“Sister Megan, with her own difficult past, has seen the worst of humanity, yet she still believes in its capacity for good. Lois, on the other hand, fears the world is succumbing to evil. As Lois and Sister Megan string together clues, they find themselves ensnared in a sinister web that only seems to raise more questions than answers.”

So far, so good. I’m seated.

What is Travis Kelce doing in it?

The role Travis Kelce is going to be playing in Grotesquerie is completely under wraps. All we’ve seen is the fella wave his hands in front of his face in the trailer – but what we do know is he must be playing a significant role because he’s set to star in all 10 episodes of the series.

Grotesquerie drops on 25th September. I kind of need it NOW.
