Taylor Jenkins Reid has been taking the world by storm with her books. Currently, two of her books have a television or film adaptation set to be released and two more are still in development.
Taylor is one of the many authors whose books have absolutely dominated on TikTok, with people fan casting celebrities in roles and sharing their excitement about each and every book.
With the Daisy Jones & the Six TV show fast approaching to be a major hit, these are all the Taylor Jenkins Reid books ranked based on its rating on Goodreads.
9. Forever, Interrupted
Rating: 3.71 average
Forever, Interrupted is Taylor Jenkins Reid’s first ever published book and somehow her lowest rated. However given it has a 3.71 average, it isn’t bad at all. The book is a classic contemporary romance novel.
The novel has been rated over 64,000 times on Goodreads and it has just under 7,500 reviews. There is a lot of mixed opinions on this book, but largely it just isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

8. Maybe in Another Life

Maybe in Another Life is Taylor Jenkins Reid’s third story and follows Hannah whose fate rests on a choice she makes at the end of a night. The story is told between two POVs, both being either choice Hannah makes.
The novel has an average rating of 3.81 and has over 150,000 ratings on Goodreads. Maybe in Another Life has 17,400 reviews and like a lot of Taylor’s books, people love them. One person reviewed the book and wrote: “This is such a sweet story. It filled me with so much happiness and contentment. That’s not to say this is all a simply and feel-good tale. There’s heartache and mess contained within these pages.”

7. Evidence of the Affair
Rating: 3.93 average
Evidence of the Affair is Taylor Jenkins Reid’s only short stories and it was first published in 2018. The story is told completely through letters between two strangers and two illicit lovers and is Taylor’s seventh highest rated book on Goodreads.
The short story has just over 86,000 ratings and has an average of 3.93. Accompany those, Evidence of the Affair has over 10,000 reviews. One person who read the book absolutely loved it and wrote: “That was fabulous. I felt so much in only 100 pages?… Though this format limits how much character description we get, I instantly connected to our protagonists.”
The official synopsis reads: “A desperate young woman in Southern California sits down to write a letter to a man she’s never met – a choice that will forever change both their lives.”
6. After I Do
Rating: 3.99 average
After I Do is Taylor Jenkins Reid’s second ever book and is her sixth highest rated book on Goodreads. Taylor described this book as a “love story about what happens when the love fades” and tells the story of a couple “caught up in an old game – and searching for a new road to happily ever after.”
The 2014 novel has over 100,000 ratings on Goodreads and a 3.99 average. The book has over 11,000 reviews. One person reviewed the book and wrote: “This book seems so incredibly simple, yet so profoundly important.”
The official synopsis reads: “When Lauren and Ryan’s marriage reaches the breaking point, they come up with an unconventional plan. They decide to take a year off in the hopes of finding a way to fall in love again. One year apart, and only one rule: they cannot contact each other. Aside from that, anything goes.”
5. Malibu Rising
Rating: 4.07 average
Malibu Rising is Taylor Jenkins Reid’s fifth highest rated book on Goodreads and it was first published in 2021. In the same year, Malibu Rising won the Goodreads Choice Award for best historical fiction, similar to a lot of her books. Before Malibu Rising was even released, it was confirmed it would be adapted into a TV series, but not much else is known about it.
With over 700,000 ratings on Goodreads, Malibu Rising has a 4.07 average and over 70,000 reviews. The novel follows the Riva siblings as their lives change after a massive summer party. The surname of the siblings may ring a bell if you’re an avid TJR reader due to Mick Riva popping up in literally every book.
The official synopsis reads: “Four famous siblings throw an epic party to celebrate the end of the summer. But over the course of twenty four hours, their lives will change forever.”
4. One True Loves
Rating: 4.10 average
One True Loves comes in the fourth spot with 244,000 ratings on Goodreads, and just like The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, One True Loves is also being adapted into a movie. The movie is set to be released in April 2023 and stars Phillipa Soo, Simu Liu and Luke Bracey in the lead roles.
The book follows Emma, who marries her high school sweetheart but on their first wedding anniversary, he goes missing. Years later she falls in love again but her high school sweetheart is found alive and her whole world is turned upside down.
The official synopsis reads: “In her twenties, Emma Blair marries her high school sweetheart, Jesse. They build a life for themselves, far away from the expectations of their parents and the people of their hometown in Massachusetts. They travel the world together, living life to the fullest and seizing every opportunity for adventure.

3. Daisy Jones & The Six
Rating: 4.24 average
Daisy Jones & The Six is the first of Taylor’s novels to be made into a TV show and is now streaming on Amazon Prime. The series stars the likes of Sam Claflin, Suki Waterhouse and Camille Morrone. The TV show even has its own album, called Aurora and on the day of its release it rose to number one on the US iTunes charts.
With over 900,000 ratings on Goodreads, Daisy Jones & The Six has an average rating of 4.24 and it tells the story of the rise of an iconic rock group in the 70s and the decision to split up years later. The book was first published in 2019 and in the same year it won the Goodreads Choice Award for best historical fiction.
The official synopsis reads: “Everyone knows Daisy Jones & The Six, but nobody knows the real reason why they split at the absolute height of their popularity… until now.”
2. Carrie Soto Is Back
Rating: 4.25 average
Carrie Soto Is Back is Taylor Jenkins Reid’s most recently published novel and it has already taken the number two spot. The book as a 4.25 average and has over 200,000 ratings on Goodreads.
The book was published in 2022 and in the same year it won the Goodreads Choice Award for Best Historical Fiction. The story follows legendary athlete, Carrie Soto, as she tries to make a comeback but everyone thinks she is past her prime.
The official synopsis reads: “Carrie Soto is fierce, and her determination to win at any cost has not made her popular. By the time Carrie retires from tennis, she is the best player the world has ever seen. She has shattered every record and claimed twenty Slam titles. 1. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
Rating: 4.46 average
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is one of Taylor’s most popular books, and the 4.46 average rating on Goodreads is proof enough. In fact, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo has been rated over one million times on Goodreads, with over 190,000 reviews.
The novel was first published in June 2017 and follows Monique as she gets the chance to interview Hollywood movie icon Evelyn Hugo. Evelyn is finally read to tell the truth about her life and Monique has absolutely no idea why she was picked to write this story.
The official synopsis reads: “Aging and reclusive Hollywood movie icon Evelyn Hugo is finally ready to tell the truth about her glamorous and scandalous life. But when she chooses unknown magazine reporter Monique Grant for the job, no one is more astounded than Monique herself. Why her? Why now?”
In 2022, it was confirmed Netflix would be adapting the novel into a feature film. A lot of readers are keen for Jessica Chastain to take on one of the roles and she has even said she’s on board with the idea.
