Stirling moves into top 40 unis in new rankings guide

The Complete University Guide released their rankings of the top universities in the UK, with Stirling ranking 39th on the list.

The guide is based on aspects such as student satisfaction, research quality, entry standards amongst other aspects and in order to produce a table to guide uncertain 6th years.

Stirling made up a significant eight places in the rankings, moving up from last year’s place of 47th on the list and moving into the top 40 universities in the UK according to the guide.

The top five universities in the UK remained unchanged with those places being occupied by Cambridge, Oxford, London School of Economics, Imperial College London and St Andrews respectively.

Edinburgh University continued to be in St Andrews’ shadow, ranking in 19th place, moving up one place. Also moving up one place was Glasgow into 29th. Next were Heriot-Watt in 34th and Dundee in joint 35th with Cardiff.

One notable drop in the rankings were Strathclyde who fell ten places from 38th to 48th to fall behind the likes of Harper Adams, known for their love of farming.
