‘All Gender’ toilets opened in new Queen’s University initiative

The gender neutral toilets can be found at four different locations around the campus

Queen’s University have announced four toilets on campus will be gender neutral.

They have been included to help promote a more egalitarian, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere at the university. The toilets are intended to be used by any gender, but are specifically intended for groups who may feel uncomfortable in male/female toilets such as those who are transitioning in gender.

A Queen’s spokesperson said: “The new All Gender/Accessible Toilets and Shower are now available in four sites for anyone to use – male, female, and those either considering or transitioning gender.”

This marks an expansion of ‘Trans Equality Policy’ that Queen’s have already employed in the past, with the first gender neutral bathroom appearing in the Students Union.

Students at Queen’s can find the toilets at the following locations:

The Graduate School on the 1st floor.

The Main Site Tower from the 1st to the 9th floor.

The Peter Froggatt Centre on the 1st and 3rd floor.

The Administration Building on the ground floor.

And an All Gender/Accessible Shower facility can be found on the lower ground floor of the Main Site Tower.
