Newcastle University ranks in top 40 for best university in the UK, new league table shows
The university also ranks high on graduate prospects
Emmie FosterNewcastle University places in the top 40 for best UK universities, according to The Times Good University Guide 2024. The full list overall ranked 131 different UK universities, with Newcastle ranking high as a whole.
The university came in 37th place overall, compared to 33rd last year.
The Times UK University Rankings score different UK universities on various scales including teaching quality, student experience, research quality, entry standards, graduate prospects, no.of firsts/2:1s, continuation rate and student-staff ratio.
Newcastle University’s overall score came to 651/1000. However, the university also ranked particularly high in certain sectors such as:
- Continuation rate – 96.3 per cent
- Graduation prospects – 84.7 per cent
- No.of firsts/2:1s – 83.8 per cent
