Bass is back in the basement: Indigo to reopen tonight

Metal detectors have been installed following an incident on the 29th of January

Indigo is to reopen tonight, following a violent incident at the end of January.

Two men suffered knife injuries at the club on the 29th of January, leading to the license being suspended.

A hearing held that the club should reopen with additional security measures, including metal detectors on the entrance and the door staff wearing bodycams.

The club has released a statement:

“We are pleased to announce as a result of today’s hearing, Indigo will re open as of tomorrow night.

“Over the last month we have been working closely with GMP & Manchester City Council licensing team to implement a new set of conditions in order for us to re open. These will include searching at the door by metal detection wands, an earlier last entry time & that all of our door staff will now wear body cameras.

“We have said from day one that customer safety is of paramount importance to us. Whilst the incident was isolated & out of character for the venue, we will be working tirelessly to ensure Indigo remains a safe place for customers to enjoy our diverse range of events.

“We look forward to welcoming you back to Withingtons most loved late night venue.

“We owe a huge thanks to all the responsible authorities & local residents who have supported us & made this outcome possible.

“If any members of the public have any questions you can get in contact with us at [email protected]

“Any promoters or people with future events can get in contact with [email protected].”

Big Beats are hosting a night of Liquid, Jungle and Rollers to welcome everyone back to the best (and only) club on the Withington strip.
