Greater Manchester Police crack down on bicycle theft

An update on the police outside the Stopford Building on Sunday night


There was an incident on Sunday Evening outside the University of Manchester’s Stopford Building on Oxford Road. At 8.45pm a passer by witnessed three police cars and two vans stopping a fight that had erupted opposite Manchester Academy.

It has now been confirmed that the police had been called to intervene as a group of youths attempted to steal an abandoned bike from the Stopford Building.  Two youths were arrested.

The bike owners of Manchester can now sleep easy knowing bike theft will not be tolerated by Greater Manchester Police.
