Only 6 out of 16 libraries will be open and operational


Among the changes this week has brought are alterations to the libraries and study spaces open in term 2. Many libraries have closed or will only be open for click and collect services.

If you’re struggling to find out where is open for you to study or pick up books you need hopefully this will help!

Here is a definitive list of where you can and can’t study for now.

These are the UCL libraries and Study Spaces open in Term 2:

1-19 Torrington Place (floors 6-10)

Open Monday to Friday: 09:00 – 20: 30

Bidborough House (levels 1-4)

Open Monday to Friday: 09:00 – 20:30

Institute of Education (IOE) Library

Open Monday to Friday: 09:00 – 20:30

Main Library

Is exclusively open for those with Membership

Open Monday: 12:00 – 17:00, Tuesday to Friday: 12:00 – 19:00

(For most students that means you will still be able to use the Click and Collect facilities) 

Ramsay Hall (floors 1-5)

Open Monday to Friday: 09:00 – 20:30

Royal Free Hospital Medical Library

Is exclusively open for UCL staff and Medical students working and studying at the Royal Free

Monday and Wednesday: 10:00 – 21:00 and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 10:00 – 18:00

Science Library 

Monday to Friday: 09:00 – 20:30 Saturday: 10:00 – 17:30

Special Collection Rooms:

Special Collections Reading Room (South Junction) – Open Tuesday to Wednesday: 11:00 – 14:45

Institute of Education (IOE) Reading Room – Open Tuesday to Wednesday: 11:00 – 14:45

Student Centre

Open (currently) “24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year”

 

These Libraries are running click and collect book services in Term 2:

Click and collect Monday to Friday: 09:00 – 20:00

Main Library

Click and collect Monday to Friday: 09:00 – 20:45, Saturday: 11:00 – 17:45

Science Library

Click and collect Monday to Friday: 10:00 – 20:45, Saturday: 11:00 – 17:45

These are the UCL libraries closed until further notice:

• Cruciform Hub

• Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health Library

• Institute of Archaeology Library

• Language & Speech Science Library

• Queen Square Library

• School of Pharmacy Library

• School of Slavonic and East European Studies Library (SSEES)

• Senate House Hub

• Joint Library of Ophthalmology, Moorfields Eye Hospital & UCL Institute of Ophthalmology – though there are still study spaces open exclusively for UCL Institute of Ophthalmology students and staff – these must be booked in advance.
