The best and worst Liverpool Venues for your next Instagram post

Cool it on the saturation maybe?

We know a double chin will still be there in every filter, and we're not expecting to look like Beyonce after downing an infamous Raz bomb. But waking up and scrolling down the 'Cool It Liverpool' photo albums has become the new hall of shame for us club goers. Here are our ratings of the best and worst venues in Liverpool for your drunken Instagram photo-shoot.

Level – 9/10

Congrats on making the cut

Congrats on making the cut

If you manage to find the photographer on one of the three floors of Level, after sieving through the AU night legends, then your next Instagram post is sorted. There's a strong chance that guy from Love Island or Gaz from Geordie Shore is doing a PA which may up the likes as well. Level has been crowned the Queen of editing, perfecting the balance between filters and lighting.

Although, making it onto the Facebook album is another challenge (rumour has it Level only upload photos of attractive clubbers). Ever wondered why you can't find your snap? Your beer goggles might have been on when you had the last minute mirror check at pres.

24 Kitchen Street – 7/10

Don't cut yourself on the edginess

Don't cut yourself on the edginess

Kitchen Street nail the candid shots of you and your closest mates. Their photo albums are full of tie dye, flowers and glitter, capturing you off guard in the lights of the venue. At least you can look forward to something on your comedown at 9am Monday morning. An iconic place for a snap if your wardrobe consists of retro Adidas and your wallet is full of baggies and lollipops (maybe make sure you hide the bottled water from the camera though)

Brooklyn Mixer – 2/10

One girl resulted in nose diving to the ground to avoid the BM edit

One girl resulted in nose diving to the ground to avoid the BM edit

If you want to discover every pore, wrinkle, blemish and eyebrow hair you never knew existed, then head down to Brooklyn Mixer on a Monday. Turning up the contrast and increasing the sharpness to 100 per cent makes their edits a no-go for your new Instagram – even a post at prime time won't get you anywhere here. We're not sure which is more offensive, the tacky border they use or their bouncers?

Old Juicy – 6.5/10, New Juicy 5/10

RIP Old Juicy

RIP Old Juicy

Freshers, you may have been thrown into the political debate over "Old Juicy vs New Juicy". True stamina was shown by stumbling out of Bongo's Bingo on a Thursday with your life-sized cardboard cut out of Lenny Henry, straight into Juicy til 3am. It's still the place to be to get your weekly fix of Drake and slut drop with Sarah from Psychology to bump n grind.

If you can travel back in time and get a snap for your Instagram it would be great, as the current photo album consists of bright oranges and reds with the temperature gradient soaring. At least they've kept the classic Juicy bubble writing in the bottom right.

Heebie Jeebies – 6/10

Thursday date night at Heebies?

Thursday date night at Heebies?

It looks as though Juicy and Heebie Jeebies have not only teamed up on their RnB tracks, but use the same temperature gradient in all their photos. Or maybe everyone just looks slightly flushed from standing in the BNOC-only smoking area? We like their edits though, as at least the photos are salvageable with a couple of Instagram filters.

Medication – 9/10

It's the place to be

It's the place to be

And the grand winner of the most Instagrammable venue is Med Fridays. They've managed to hire the mate that everyone wants, who captures your candids just when you want them. Push your way to the barrier at the front to guarantee more air time on their album. With confetti and lights, bright colours and VKs, surrounded by inflatables and no guilt of missing a 9am in the morning. It's crowned one of the biggest venues for students in Liverpool, and more significantly, our favourite photo-shoot.
