The decision has been made following increased support for the organisation on social media and the success of a petition calling for a 30 per cent rent reduction.
The petition, which can be found here, has now gained over 4,000 signatures.
This action follows similar campaigns around the country.
In Bristol, £1 million of rent has already been withheld by over 800 students.
In Manchester, UoM Rent Strike has won each student a 30 per cent rent reduction for the first semester, roughly equating to a £900 refund and costing the University of Manchester £12 million.
CutTheRentLDS can be found on Instagram and Twitter @CutTheRentLDS, and also have set up a Facebook Group. You can sign and share their petition here.
