Can we all please stop pretending that the Midlands isn’t a real place

Being a student from the Midlands is proven to be extremely difficult. With all the Northerners and Southerners claiming that the Midlands doesn’t exist, drives us just a tiny bit insane. Coming from good old Wolverhampton myself (don’t laugh) I am a full believer that the Midlands does exist. If there is no Midlands, then what exactly is in the middle of the country? There is not just the North and South! Like hello! We are here too.

Harsh. I don’t think that we are exactly a myth. Do you understand the significant history of the United Kingdom that was in fact bought from the Midlands? Let me inform you. The Midlands played a huge role in the Industrial Revolution. Hence the name ‘The Black Country’ and ‘The Battle of Watling Street’. This was lead by the Celt Boudicca to defeat the Romans when they invaded Britain. So tell me again, is the Midlands really a myth?

'I’m a Southerner and I think anyone who pronounces ‘baff’ instead of ‘baaath’ is counted as Northern'

Let me just stop you right there. It is evident that there is no ‘r’ in bath, therefore the pronunciation of this word should always remain as ‘baff’. Case closed.

Excuse me? Well where are you exactly going through to get to these destinations? The Midlands. Obviously.

The Midlands is a great place for the arts!

However, there are some people who like the Midlands. I mean, they mostly live in the midlands but still. Which obviously made me very happy…

TV, media.. only follow the north and the south. I have no clue why. It’s like we are cloaked. Only recently are people taking an interest. Mostly because of peaky blinders'

Preach to all of the above! The Midlands does exist, how can you think differently? We are our own place just like the North and South. So to all of the Midlanders out there, don't let anybody tell you different.
