Preacher spotted protesting gay marriage around George Square

His name is George

This morning a man was spotted walking around George Square with a sign saying “God's way: 1 Man, 1 Woman, 1 Marriage.”

He was also seen wearing multiple signs on his body praising 'the lord' and referring to passages in the Bible. He did at least one lap around George Square, before heading towards Quartermile and the Meadows.

The preacher, George, when asked why he was going around with the placards, said: "I'm protesting the sexuality in today's society, it's gone off the rails."

George told us that he is against gay marriage, sex before marriage and claimed that there is something wrong with the youth of today. He also wants to bring people back to God and Jesus.

George said he didn’t belong to any specific church, and that "the only ones with me are angels."

He told us that he usually walks around in the city with his signs, trying to get people to “embrace traditional Christian values”.

Even though there were not many people around George Square when he was walking around, it was quite obvious he was causing quite a bit of a stir, with most students looking him at him in disbelief and snapping pictures.
