Edinburgh second year pens catchy anti-Theresa May song

“Your strength and your stability lie in your ability to fall through on your promises, that seems like fragility”

Second year Edinburgh student Natasha Mary has written her own song about Theresa May. Natasha actually came up with the idea of the song before the General Election was called and her Facebook video has already amassed over 1,100 views since it was posted online.

Not the finest lyrically or musically, but if there's ever a time for self-important political songs it's during election season tbh"If I May, Theresa"

When asked why she wrote the song, she told the Tab: “I first wrote it just after Theresa ran straight into the arms of Trump just after she became leader, ignoring the fact that he’s a xenophobic racist who had just announced plans for the Muslim ban. It’s even more relevant now he’s pulling out of the Paris climate agreement.”

In a song full of witty lyrics, the lines that she’s most proud of are: “Theresa what you thinking when you’re standing on that stand/ Are you thinking about his tiny hands?” or “Your strength and your stability lie in your ability/ To fall through on your promises, that seems like fragility.”

Whilst Natasha is clearly not going to be voting Tory, she’s calling on people to support the Labour Party. She said: “I want people to vote for Corbyn for a leader and party who won’t screw over all the vulnerable people in our society with more cuts, who hasn’t erected a wall in northern France to stop people fleeing for their lives from seeking safety in the UK and endless other reasons.”
